Silk is a natural, biodegradable fabric that requires less water to harvest than other fabrics. Mulberry silk is woven from the cocoons of domesticated silkworms that feed on the leaves of the mulberry tree. It s recognized as one of the most extraordinary fabrics in the world - delicate and light yet exceptionally strong and durable. The weight of the silk in our pillowcase is 22 Momme (mm) - a durable and lustrous weave. It s also wholly odorless and certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 (tested for harmful substances).

MOMME SAY WHAT?

Momme (mm) is a measurement of the unit of weight of silk. The higher the momme, the more durable, dense, and luxurious the weave. Most silk pillowcases are 19 momme or less. But our pure mulberry Silk Pillowcase is 22 momme, ensuring a lifespan that is about 50 percent longer. We only use the highest grade 6A long fiber silk to create one of the most luxurious, temperature- and moisture-regulating silk pillowcases in the world.

EASY CARE

Washing your Silk Pillowcase is easy. Place it in the included protective wash bag. Secure the closure by tieing the drawstring in a knot to prevent the pillowcase from falling out during the wash cycle. Machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle. Hang dry and avoid direct sunlight exposure. Do not bleach.

Some recommend the always cool, renewable fabric to help prevent wrinkles and dry skin and hair. The pillowcase includes a GOTS-certified organic cotton wash bag.

Plus, we include a GOTS-certified organic cotton wash bag for easy, protective cleaning.

CARE	Place your Silk Pillowcase in the included protective wash bag. Secure the closure by tying the drawstring in a knot to prevent the pillowcase from falling out during the wash cycle. Machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle. Hang dry and avoid direct sunlight exposure. Allow to dry completely before placing pillowcase back on your pillow. Do not bleach.
CLIMATE NEUTRAL CERTIFIED	As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren't enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That's why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis.
PROJECT ZERO WASTE	We're proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill - we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we've been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this.
