It features a firm, tightly quilted pattern of GOTS-certified organic cotton knit on top of the base support of coconut husk fiber infused with GOLS-certified organic latex.

TODDLER SIDE

Intended for use from year one up to year four , the toddler side of our Luxury Organic Crib Mattress is slightly more plush, while still providing the support your growing child needs as they move and fidget throughout the night. It features a supportive layer of GOLS-certified organic latex , plus an additional quilted pattern of GOTS-certified organic cotton for added breathability and buoyancy. Individually wrapped innerspring coils made from upcycled steel and a reinforced coco-fiber perimeter ensure superior support to the edge.

SAFE & HEALTHY

We don t use petroleum-based polyurethane foams, chemical adhesives, vinyl waterproofing, polyurethane, polyethylene, or flame-retardant chemicals in our Luxury Organic Crib Mattress . Instead, we use GOTS-certified organic wool as a natural fire retardant and interior needle tufting to bind the layers and components together. And we test, inspect, and certify our organic materials, products, and processes - in our brand name for trust and transparency. Why care? MASTER CRAFTED

Crafted by hand in our California factory , our Luxury Organic Crib Mattress redefines quality. Starting with a coco husk structure that encases the support layers, 150 individually wrapped innerspring coils made from upcycled steel are arranged and cut by hand . They're then hand-stitched to the coco-fiber base to prevent movement or shifting. Strips of organic wool are even layered between the coils to prevent noise and increase durability. An organic hemp pad is added above and below the support coils and topped with an additional 1 inch of GOLS-certified organic latex. In place of glue, six internal hand tufts are used for durability. The entire crib is then wrapped in our organic wool, which acts as an all-natural flame retardant, before being finished with elegant organic cotton ticking.

Babies sleep more than adults, which means they spend more time near mattresses that can emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and EDCs (endocrine disrupting chemicals). Studies show these emissions are linked to neurodevelopmental issues, childhood obesity, asthma, and other conditions. That's why our organic crib mattress is GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low emissions and Formaldehyde Free certified by the UL Environment . Dual-Sided Support	The dual-sided Avocado Conscious Crib Mattress is the perfect healthy complement to your child s sleep routine, designed to fit inside any standard crib. Its support base is made from a coco husk support structure, filled with individually wrapped innerspring coils made from upcycled steel that are hand-placed to ensure a perfect fit. Intended for use from newborn to one year, the infant side is more firm by design to provide the support your baby needs in this pivotal time of transition and growth. It features a supportive, firm 1-inch layer of GOLS organic certified latex as well as a 2-inch quilted pattern of GOTS organic certified cotton. Intended for use from one year to four years, the toddler side is slightly plusher, while still allowing for the support of your growing child as they move and fidget throughout the night. It features an additional 6-inch quilted pattern of GOTS organic certified cotton for added buoyancy.
GOLS-Certified Organic Latex	We use Dunlop latex in our mattresses because it is more eco-conscious than Talalay latex, which requires more processing. We make our own GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex from our co-owned farmer's societies in India, operating under the USDA's National Organic Program. It's made with 95% certified organic latex, the highest possible standard. Dunlop latex is naturally antimicrobial, cooler than memory foam, requires no adhesives to seam it together, and is more durable than Talalay latex. It is processed in a GOLS organic certified facility in India that we also co-own. The Avocado Conscious Crib Mattress features 1 inch of firm (D85) organic latex. No blended or synthetic latex is used, there are no seams to break down over time, and no chemical adhesives are used to bind the layers since our mattress is needle tufted by hand.
GOTS Organic Certified Wool	We use wool from our sustainable sheep farms, where herds graze freely among the Himalayas. The benefits of wool s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: it wicks away moisture, keeps your mattress smelling fresh, and acts as yet another all-natural fire barrier. It s breathable - both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body, and soft support characteristics. And it s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. We add a layer of pure, naturally crimped GOTS organic certified wool surrounding the entire crib mattress. We do not blend any rayon, polyester, or flame-retarding chemicals with our wool.
GOTS Organic Certified Cotton	For a luxurious and premium finish, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU863637) in a soft, natural color blended with 3% elastane for functional stretch and enhanced durability-fully compliant with GOTS standards. This fabric is quilted over a generous layer of organic wool, supported by a thin, non-woven backing-added in accordance with GOTS accessory requirements-to prevent the wool from shifting or clumping and to keep natural fibers from working through the outer cotton over time. Reinforced tape edge seams are made with a GOTS-certified organic cotton tape edge and are double-stitched.
INNERSPRING UNIT	Made in our manufacturing facility, our lightweight coils support the mattress without making the bed too heavy. These premium springs float independently in a food-grade polypropylene fabric (non-woven and non-toxic) to improve airflow, support, and spinal alignment. The 150 coils are assembled using a safe and environmentally-conscious adhesive composed of tested components (Waxes: CAS 8002-74-2, Resin: CAS 8050-26-8, Antioxidant: CAS 6683-19-8, EVA Polymer: CAS 24937-78-8). Made from heat-treated and stress-relieved wire, these up-cycled steel coils enable our mattress to deliver firm edge support for the life of the mattress and help those needing back pain and pressure-point relief. Furthermore, the finished innerspring unit meets OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, EWG Verified®, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, and Formaldehyde-Free Claim Verification standards, ensuring that it adheres to the highest safety and environmental benchmarks.
Safety Information	Use only a fitted bottom sheet specifically made for crib use, along with a mattress pad and/or a waterproof pad. Do not place stuffed animals, pillows, quilts, or comforters in the crib while your baby sleeps, as they may prevent proper air circulation around your baby s face. The side of the crib was removed for display/photographic purposes only. Cribs should be fully enclosed to ensure safe and secure sleep for your little one.
Both Sides Safety-Tested for Infants	Both sides of the Avocado dual-sided crib mattress have been independently tested and meet the U.S. safety standard 16 CFR 1241 (which incorporates ASTM F2933). Mattress firmness was evaluated at multiple locations across each surface, and both sides passed all firmness tests. This means that whether the infant or toddler side is used - even by accident - both sides meet infant firmness requirements, ensuring a safe sleep surface for your baby.
Tested for PFAS	PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man-made chemicals used in various industries worldwide. Known for their persistence in the environment and in the human body, they are often referred to as "forever chemicals." At Avocado, we're committed to ensuring our products are free from harmful levels of PFAS. Our crib mattresses have been rigorously tested using advanced techniques such as Liquid Chromatographic/Tandem Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS/MS) analysis and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis for 241 PFAS substances. This testing method is superior to generic organic fluorine screening tests, which can often be inaccurate and fail to detect specific PFAS compounds. Legal Label	A law label is a legally required tag or label on new mattresses describing interior filling materials. Few companies will share this information before your purchase because it separates fact from marketing hype. We believe differently. Here's what the legal tag on the standard Avocado Green Mattress says: Made in California with domestic and imported material. Internal materials (based on weight) consisting of Natural Latex (58%), Natural Wool Fiber (42%), plus a fabric cover comprised of Organic Cotton (97%) and Elastane (3%).
